A bird tells of the movements it makes to help several children living in the city to get ready for school. The story takes place over a period of 1 hour and a half, every 15 minutes the bird flies over a child’s window and helps him perform actions in the right sequence. The actions are presented inside the windows, which the child can open to check the correct sequence in which to perform them, in order to achieve a behavior, such as washing, dressing, having breakfast and so on. The presented sequences of actions have an increasing complexity, so as to gradually train the child to think about their planning. In closing the book, a section dedicated to adults involved in the education of children, will provide them with tips and strategies to help children in the management of time.
The book is based on some studies by Sylvie Droit-Volet on the perception of time in children and activities are proposed in a daily circumstance how to prepare for school.
